As a mental health professional with over 20 years of experience, I have come to understand how stress, trauma, our life experiences, and our habits can intersect to influence our thoughts, emotions, behavior, even our physiology and health. I use my clinical training, drawing from multiple therapeutic frameworks, as well as holistic practices including complementary and alternative medicine, yoga, and meditation, to help my clients make sense of the ways in which their life experiences affect their mind, body, and spirit. Rather than dwelling on diagnoses that emphasize what is "wrong with" my clients, I focus on what has happened to them, and how their natural responses to stress might be causing physical or emotional symptoms. We practice somatic (body-based) interventions to complete the stress response and relieve physical and emotional pain. Since 2002, I’ve worked with clients from diverse backgrounds in order to help them achieve mental wellness, stability, and balance in all aspects of life.
